Perfect results need perfect planning. We use modern planning software and online route tracking to deliver our products to more than 300 customer addresses per day. This allows us to calculate the optimum daily vehicle assignments and routes based on parameters such as load, traffic situation, driving times and energy efficiency. The system also provides additional information about special unloading requirements, including opening hours, vertical and horizontal clearance, crane capacities on site, etc. Our fleet of 30+ trucks is connected to the planning software, allowing our scheduling team to quickly react to unforeseen situations, reschedule as needed and provide our drivers with all the information they need.

For our loading team, the next day already begins late in the afternoon. By the time our truck fleet returns from its daily delivery tours, our customers’ next-day orders have already been prepared for overnight loading. In this way, we can make effective use of our drivers’ and vehicles’ rest and standing times and maximize the hours available for daytime deliveries. It goes without saying that our loading team undergoes regular training on load distribution, maximum loads, cargo securing and transport protection for the products. And our staff already considers the unloading process, e.g. by ensuring accessibility based on the order of delivery, providing straps for unloading by crane or dunnage for unloading with a forklift.

Packaging and transport protection fulfill important tasks. After all, the goal is to protect your goods en route and maintain their high quality. At the same time, the packages must be suitable for transfer and repositioning. This means packaging and transport protection are two sides of the same coin. Extra-long products don’t mean extra-long delivery times. Kerschgens has a permanent special permit for transports of up to 22 m length in Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg. This allows us to deliver extra-length steel and hollow steel sections just as flexibly, quickly and reliably as all other products from the Kerschgens portfolio.
